PRODUCT IMAGE REQUIREMENTS

 

Images represent your products to buyers and are one of the key success factors. It depends on them whether buyers will be interested in your product and want to become your business partners.

As images play such an important role on Product pages, BtoTree has requirements for what product images should be. When uploading images to your Product page, you have to follow these requirements.

 

PRODUCT MAIN IMAGES

These images displayed in search results, when the user enters the query into the search bar. So this is what buyers will focus on first.

The Product Page shows your product’s main Images at the top of the page with the other information. It is the first thing that users will notice when they click on any of your products.

 

 

  • You can add up to 12 images.
  • Each image should be at least 400*247 pixels.
  • An image cannot exceed 8Mb.
  • All images should be one of these file types: .jpg, .png, .gif.

Place images of your product in order of their importance and informativeness for buyers.

PRODUCT LONG DESCRIPTION IMAGES

Buyers will see long description images when they scroll down the Product Page. Theseimages complement the product description and show the product in more detail.

Long description allows you to add multiple images with a minimum of 450 pixels in width.

WHY IMAGES OF A PRODUCT ARE SO IMPORTANT?

As there is no physical representation of a product to a buyer, only photos, you need to use them to draw the attention of potential buyers in order to maximize your sales. Good quality photos become one of the key criteria to success. It is essential to choose and arrange the visual content correctly in order to accurately convey the characteristics of the product and create a positive buyer’s impression of your brand.

Select the Main Image of your product carefully, because it will be the face of your product.

WHAT DOES A GREAT PRODUCT IMAGE LOOK LIKE?

  • The image is of good quality and appropriate size, clear and informative.
  • It fully demonstrates a product and does not mislead buyers.
  • The image is attractive and highlights the product’s best features.
  • It grabs the attention of users and gives them an interest in a product and brand in general.

Compelling images of your product is critical to your success. Bad images could prevent you from making a sale, no matter how amazing your product is. To improve existing photos,  you can use special software like photoshop.
