PRODUCT IMAGE REQUIREMENTS

Images represent your products to buyers and are one of the key success factors. It depends on them whether buyers will be interested in your product and want to become your business partners.

As images play such an important role on Product pages, BtoTree has requirements for what product images should be. When uploading images to your Product page, you have to follow these requirements.

DO NOT USE WHITE BACKGROUND FOR YOUR FIRST IMAGE

Your First Main Image is what the buyers see when browsing. It is the first visual of your product on the Business Page (Brand Page). Do not use white background for your first image, because it does not grab the attention of buyers and does not show the uniqueness of your product.

DO NOT USE ANY BLURRED IMAGES

Blurred images often come out as unprofessional to buyers getting uncertain about the quality of the item they are considering. It is important to show your product in action and in-focus.

DO NOT USE ANY WATERMARKED IMAGES

The images should not have any watermarks such as your company name or logo of your business. Because of watermarks, it is very difficult to see all the product features.

USE SCALE SHOTS

A scale shot visually communicates the size of your product. Buyers can’t try your items, so it’s important to give them all the details they need visually.  For example, users can know what an enamel pin looks like on a real lapel, if that knit hat fits an infant or an adult, or if that vase holds one bloom or a whole bouquet.

GET YOUR LIGHTING RIGHT

If there is one deciding factor that defines the quality of your images, it’s light. Lighting can be very tedious to set up, but when done right, it brings beautiful results and significantly improves your product visuals.

TAKE MULTIPLE SHOTS FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES

Taking multiple shots from a variety of angles will show your buyers exactly what your product looks like and help get their attention.

USE LIFESTYLE SHOTS

A lifestyle shot helps buyers imagine what their lives would be like if they owned your product. This aspirational style of the photo creates a scene illustrating the product being used helping your product get more noticed.

TIPS

1. Add more than 1 product images; the more images there are, the more the buyers will know about your products and your Business.

2.  It is better, if the photos are not the same type. Variety of images will show all the characteristics of the product.

3. The image should focus the buyer’s attention directly on the product, nothing should distract it.
